TUB TO SHOWER CONVERSIONS
CUSTOMER JOB ESTIMATE GUIDE

JOB DESCRIPTION IN BRIEF
Your existing steel or fiberglass tub is removed.
Old plumbing revised & upgraded.
32x60 ABS Acrylic Shower base, w/ drain location
to match is installed in place of old tub.
3 part Acrylic Wall System is installed on to
your existing tile walls, up to the ceiling

Preparation (WALLS): Clean tile walls, remove existing soap dish, install furring to bring wall surface even with tile surface above tile line. Carve out space for the new recessed acrylic soap dish. Prime the tile walls for better adhesion. Remove the existing shower controls, spigot and showerhead.

Preparation (remove existing BATH tub & update plumbing): Tear out a horizontal row of wall tile above tub. Remove drain, and over flow cap. If cast iron, break tub with sledgehammer, if metal or fiberglass, cut tub with electric saw. Remove tub and discard.  Inspect condition of the existing drain and P-trap. Inspect for leaks and other damages on the sub floor. Install sub floor and level. Fur out with cement paneling to cover the hallow space left on the walls due to removal of tub and portion of tile walls. Adjust P-trap and drain .

INSTALLATION (32x60 acrylic shower base): Place shower base on a mud bed, position and level for perfect drain pitch. Screw edges to existing studs, hook up P-trap to drain, drain to shower base, and install drain cap. Wait for mortar to dry.

INSTALLATION (WALLS): Custom cut acrylic panels to fit the side and back walls. Heat-bend the outside edges of acrylic walls for bull-nose affect over the tile. Apply butyl tape for firmness. Apply sub-caulking to corners. Apply 100% silicon on the tile surface and install back wall, and sidewalls. Cut out shape for the soap dish installation. Install classic soap dish. Apply caulk primer. Caulk the corners, edges with matching caulk & finish. Reinstall shower controls, spigot and shower head.

BASE, THRESHOLD, WALLS & CEILING: LABOR + MATERIALS $2,960 PLUS FREIGHT, HANDLING & SALES TAX

 

 

Above jobs done in white acrylic. Additional charges for colors, tile look, granite and marble designs.


IMPORTANT NOTE:
Your particular shower enclosure may be different than the standard sample shown above and may require extra work. If your bathroom requires additional work, following items will be charged extra: Repair and replacement of rotted studs and sheet rock walls, bad drains and other plumbing problems, sub floors, ceilings, any and all areas which require substantial repair. Removal of old shower door and installation of new one.  Additional items required by customer such as: Enlargement or reduction of size in the new shower base, shower benches, shower seats, grab bars, corner caddies and steam showers, bull nose finish over top edges of tile walls, window openings, new mixing valve and controls (fixtures), additional acrylic installation around the walls/wainscoting, extensions, multiple curves, additional acrylic accessories will be extra.
